While Miles continues to hold down the farm I have been off again in Brooklyn (doing lots of jewelry stuff and hangin with my sis), scootin off to Pittsburgh (to visit family and picking up an Art Gallery to carry my stuff!), and back to Bk again to hang out on rooftops, cruise the amazing flea markets, and bid farewell to my new friends, my sister, and one of my all time favorite places to be... I'll miss you New York!! (But i'll be back again in a month or so ;) yay!)

As the summer nears it's end, we will gladly say farewell to humidity, crazy farmers, too much rain, and hurricane Irene! But we'll reflect on and embrace the awesome opportunity that Adina has had going back and forth to NYC, the dos and donts of organic farming that Miles has steadfastly learned, the beautiful foliage for which we are surrounded by, the amazing fresh fruits and vegetables that we pull straight out of the ground and eat, the repair and registration (finally!) of our little samurai, the success of trade shows and traveling, and most of all surviving each other through all the ups and downs!! :) wow, what a summer it has been!

As I write this from the west coast, where work and family has brought me to yet again (yay!), and i think about returning to the farm, where Miles, accompanied by Sadie and Chloe, remained in Connecticut having faced off hurricane Irene on their own, and eagerly await my return, I can't help but think of how lucky I am and how fortunate we are to be living this totally awesome, fun, and crazy lifestyle... But for gods sake already get us outta Connecticut! ;) haha!! I'm serious!

Anyways, we'll be leaving the east coast at the end of October and slowly making our way back over to familiar (and much loved) territory in Quartzsite, Az, with who knows what in between and after... Will keep ya posted! Until then, ta ta for now! :)

Back from NYC - Farm - Nonnewaug Waterfall!!

Back to the farm after an amazing week & a half stint in NYC/Brooklyn. While in the Big Apple this time, i sold out of a majority of the jewelry i had arrived with - woohoo!!! And... I'll be back in a couple weeks to do it all over again! ;) (Needless to say I'll be hard at work the next couple of weeks!) It's been so great spending time with Ash, meeting cool people, making great contacts, looking for rad stores to put my rings in, and mostly just getting to feel the energy of New York City and Brooklyn. I LOVE IT!

But it's also such an amazing relief to return to the farm, to know that I will be immersed in greenery, art making, cuddling (with Miles and the pups!), and the ability to wear whatever I want since it's CRAZY HOT AND HUMID!!!! (and not have to dress all fashiony!!) ;)

The best discovery is an awesome little waterfall and hiking trail literally a mile from the farm!! Sweet relief on these insane hot days!

I left Miles and the dogs at the farm again and took a journey into NYC!! Visiting my sis Ash in Park Slope, doing a Designer Market in Nolita, Bikram in Brooklyn, rice pudding in the park with friends, subway hopping, visiting the Met (although the line for the Alexander McQueen exhibit was three hours long, so we missed it this time - bummer!), chillin on the Highline, and cruisin around Williamsburg... who could ask for anything more!! Now back to the farm! ;)

After a month of being away from my lil' family of Miles, Sadie, and Chloe, we are all reunited in an amazing WWOOFing experience at the most beautiful farm in Connecticut called Sun One Organic Farm! Solar power, yummy farm fresh produce, communal living, and I have another beautiful outdoor studio where I will be creating tons of new pieces to take with me as I venture into New York City and Brooklyn a couple times a month!! What an amazing experience this all is!! But damn, the humidity is so crazy already!!

After purchasing a misrepresented vehicle in coal mine country of Horsepen, Va, we pulled into an unsuspecting neighbor's driveway and asked them kindly if we could sit there for a few and check out our rv and new samurai's conditions... six days later we were still in the Kittle's driveway of their 60 acre home/property awaiting repairs of the new Sammy, and had received the most amazing Virginia welcoming and hospitality, and gained some incredible experiences (such as shooting lessons, rock trades, vintage bottle collections, new furry friends, listening to stories of lost bodies with surviving souls, eating deer meat!) but the best score was fate itself in the form of two amazing new friends... Sandy and Brad.

The Clinton Presidential Library was phenomenal in Little Rock, AR. Not only did it have an extensive amount of information from the former President's eight year term, but it had an exact replica of the Oval Office with all of Clinton's original decor, a very interesting Gift section (gifts the President received from citizens and dignitaries alike), and all of his Daily Schedule books - which were quite interesting! A silly, yet spectacular, highlight was the Dr. Suess exhibit... this man was soooooo amazing!!!!

We dug and camped for three days straight at this awesome mine in the middle of the forest! We found some spectacular pieces and walked away with two buckets full of quartz points, clusters, and various other quartz formations... many great pieces for new jewelry pieces!

While camping on Lake Oauchita in the amazing Oauchita National Forest in the Mt. Ida area of Arkansas, not only is camping free in the National Forest, but it is soooooo beautiful and so close to the Sweet Surrender Quartz mines where you can dig for twenty bucks all day long and walk away with ANYTHING that you find!!! We filled two buckets!!! So much amazing Quartz to be found... of course new jewelry is on the way!! We are now at the wonderful Highway 27 Fishing Village camping area, a nice treat having electricity in this cold weather... brrr!! We've been inside creating all day for the past few days!:)

Yesterday we went offroading in this awesome army vehicle called a Pinshauer that a local guy named Bob owns... it was a blast!!!!!! We were literally climbing over rocks and going up and down river walls and the craziest stuff ever!!! He took us way out into the desert to some abandoned gold mines which also housed some of the most incredible rocks too!! I was eager to get back and start creating!!!

Full of the best of L.A.'s DIY-ers, we rocked it out with some amazing designs, sought after vintage, and killer tunes on the ones and twos yesterday!! And not to mention that our booth fees and a portion of our sales all went to a charity of our choice... mine being the Villalobos Rescue Center (for Pitbull rescue and rehabilitation)... and I got to share space with one of my most favorite artists ever, Vanae Rivera of Mary and the Machine... www.maryandthemachine.com, Yay!!

after spending several days at the magical harbin hot springs, camping, soaking, and purifying our bodies, we were ready to poison them again in the beautiful sonoma valley!! first of all, we can't just gloss over harbin like that... let us say that harbin was a definite experience!! the property was phenomenal with deer prancing all over the place and zenned out people everywhere, but the obvious best part was the pools (and the steam and sauna rooms!). warm pools, hot pools, and cold pools, all fed by the natural springs, and the succession of dipping was truly euphoric... not to mention that clothing was optional, meaning pretty much everyone there was nude! what a trip!! :) now that we are in healdsburg of sonoma we are still pretty relaxed and wet from the experience at harbin, but from other elements... delicious wines and the rain!!! wine country sure is beautiful though, even through the thick mist and torrential downpours! and i guess we know now that we need to patch up a couple of spots in the ol' rv! ;) even with all the fun we've been having jewelry is still being created and transferred into new hands! what a great experience is... 2 months down and many more to go! xo

-Cheap, and beautiful, camping at Clam Beach (one of Humboldt County's Beaches)

-Agate Beach (the best driftwood collecting ever, and lots of fantastic agate rocks to collect... so cool!)

-The Ingomar Club, incredible Victorian architecture...

-LOS BAGELS - the best, most amazing bagel shop EVER!! we had the 'sushi bagel' (wasabi cream cheese, lox, cucumber, and black sesame seeds - amazing, and one that i forget the name of but it had their vegan cream cheese, onions, capers, and their very special 'larrupin' sauce - WOW!!!!

-'Arts Alive' - First Saturday night of every month the town of Eureka comes alive by keeping all their stores, galleries, etc. open late and there are tons of people, food, musicians playing in the streets...fun, and this was the night we rolled in to town, lucky us!!

Despite the great highlights of our trip we had one major con of our trip to Humboldt... unbeknownst to us there is a major problem of meth use up in Humboldt, and we experienced this is a crazy way at Samoa Bay Campground... at 10 pm in the evening we were awoken (yes, we were the grannies asleep at 10pm) to a tweeker chic in our bed with us... let's just say we did not invite her in and this was a REALLY BAD SCENE... makes for an interesting story nonetheless, ask me later...

Making our way up the coast could not have been any better than cruisin' the 1... w-o-w is all we said the entire time... we even stopped along the way for a coffee break in the r.v... what a dream!
